What is an AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD? An Australian Shepherd is a loyal, protective, energetic, eager to please, affectionate dog that is both a beauty to have as it is to behold. Aussies are classified as a herding dog. They are highly animated. You can't help but watch them. Aussies only live for their owners. They watch you and want to be with you. They are a working dog . They need something to do; whether bring in the herd or bring in the newspaper. They are an intelligent dog. I tell my clients: 3 biscuits and you can teach them anything. WE HAVE PUPPIES! Go to Available Puppies (registered AKC, UKC and ASCA) Only 2 puppies left. We plan each litter carefully. When we breed, it is with the Australian Shepherd in mind. We like to see health, intelligence, sweet spirit and beauty in our puppies. Our Australian Shepherd puppies are generally sold with a limited registration. Aussies are very versatile. We have done some showing; activities like frisbee, tracking, flyball, agility, herding and obedience. We are very careful when placing our puppies as they need to be inside homes where they will receive training, exercise and love. Australian Shepherds need to be part of the family to be truly happy. WHATS NEW? WE HAVE FORMED AN AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD GROUP IN THE 4 CORNERS! Esther Ivey from Windy Mesa Aussies in New Mexico and myself from Dove Creek, Colorado, have started 4 Corners Australian Shepherd Association (4CASA) started.
WE ARE TAKING NEW MEMBERS NOW!
In August we had a mache Dog Show to help folks learn to show or present their dogs. We had folks from 4H and many others come to learn and see what showing was all about. We had an official judge come to show us the ropes and award ribbons for the dog show.
We also had a frisbee competition. We had 9 dogs of all breeds and ages compete in this event. I can tell you that every dog enjoyed himself and had a blast. Their owners seemed to have fun too.
Our next event for Sept will be an "Introduction to Flyball" for folks interested in a new and exciting sport for both them and their dog. DEO Speedwaggin has graciously offered to get us started and let us use their equipment. This will be an event for Sept. so plan on being there. More info soon. Check back often to find out all the fun events we do with our Aussies/Dogs. We are an Australian Shepherd Club but anyone that wants to have fun is welcome. We are working on getting ASCA sanctioned by the end of the year too for those wishing to earn titles on the registered Aussies. WE WILL NO LONGER BE SUPPORTING THE HSUS ( HUMANE SOCIETY OF THE UNITED STATES), PETA, OR ANY OF THEIR FRIENDS WHOSE GOAL IS TO TAKE AWAY OUR RIGHTS TO OWN AND BREED REGISTERED DOGS. IN AN ATTEMPT TO CURB PUPPY MILLS, THEY ARE ATTEMPTING TO PASS LAWS THAT WOULD HEAVILY PENALIZE AND FINE ANY BREEDER THAT IS RAISING PUPPIES. IN OTHER WORDS, THEY ARE GOING TO PENALIZE ALL BREEDERS TO PUNISH PUPPY MILLS. FARMERS AND RANCHERS ARE JOINING TOGETHER WITH MANY AUSSIE OWNERS ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO PRESERVE OUR RIGHTS. IF THESE LAWS ARE PASSED, BREEDERS THAT PUT A LOT OF TIME, MONEY AND CARE INTO THEIR KENNELS, WILL FOLD. ONLY THE PUPPY MILLS THAT GIVE NO CONCERN TO HEALTH OF THEIR PUPPIES WILL BE ABLE TO HANDLE THE HEAVY PENALTIES. RANCHERS WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO RAISE BEEF AND DAIRY CATTLE ECONOMICALLY WITHOUT THEIR HERDING DOGS. KENNELS PUT A LOT OF MONEY INTO VET CARE, DOG FOOD, ACTIVITIES, FEES FOR LITTERS, FEES FOR DNA, AND ON AND ON. EVERYONE WILL FEEL THE ADVERSE AFFECTS THESE LAWS WILL HAVE. THE KENNELS THAT DO SURVIVE, WILL DO SO AT THE PUBLICS EXPENSE. THE PRICE OF REGISTERED PUPPIES WILL DRAMATICALLY GO UP AND THE CARE WILL GO DOWN. THIS WILL AFFECT THE ECONOMY, JOBS AND CLUBS. READ MORE IN AUSSIE TIMES AND DOG FANCY MAGAZINES. THE HSUS IS TRYING TO KEEP THIS QUIET SO THEY CAN PUSH THESE LAWS THROUGH WITHOUT THE PUBLIC KNOWING EXACTLY WHAT THE LAWS SPECIFICALLY SAY. ALL THEY MENTION IS THAT IT WILL CURTAIL PUPPY MILLS. MOVEMENT COORDINATED BY PET OWNERS AND LIVESTOCK PRODUCERS TOGETHER, HAVE CAUSED SPONSORS TO BACK AWAY FROM THE HSUS AND DISAVOW ANY ASSOCIATION WITH THEM DUE TO AN INVESTIGATION FOR TAX FRAUD. PERTINENT INFORMATION HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE IRS ABOUT THIS TAX FRAUD. A LOT OF AUSSIE OWNERS HAVE BEEN ON THE FRONT LINES OF THIS MOVEMENT TO EXPOSE THE AGENDA OF THESE GROUPS. TAKE A STAND FOR OUR PETS SAKES. |
