WHAT FOLKS SAY ABOUT CHEROKEEWIND
AUSSIES
Mike writes: Hiya, just thought i'd
send ya some pics of Haley
(Morningstar).  She has become quite
the skilled little frisbie player and is
the best behaved pup in town!  We
enjoy our daily walks/runs down by
the Muskegon River where she still
swims despite the 40 degree weather
we've been having.  She keeps me
company day and night sleeping with
Bre and I and being a lil sweetheart.
She really knows how to brighten my
day and i don't know how i ever got
along without her.  Thanks again!
Ashley writes: We just wanted to give you
an update on our little lady.  Mia is such a
wonderful, loving dog.  She has totally
come out of her shell that you first told us
about her and moved right into our
house.  She and her big brother Cobi, get
along very well and play hard at least 3
times a day.  She loves the snow and loves
being outside even more with our other
Aussie.  She is always found sitting or
laying in the snow.  She loves when the
snow melts and she finds some of her toys
outside to play with.  She is super healthy
and continues to eat like it is going out of
style.  She continues to take obedience
training and is doing quite well.  We are
so glad to have found you and appreciate
what a wonderful dog you made for us.
Hope all is well.
CHEROKEEWIND KENELLS
A BIT ABOUT US
OUR KENNEL IS A SMALL KENNEL WITH 9 AUSSIES AT THIS TIME.  I WON'T HAVE MORE
DOGS THAN I CAN PROPERLY CARE FOR, MENTALLY, PHYSICALLY AND
AFFECTIONATELY.

OUR AUSSIES HAVE A WARM, HEATED KENNEL THEY CAN GO IN AND OUT OF AT THEIR
LEISURE.  IT HAS NEW, FLUFFY STRAW TO LAY IN WITH AMPLE ROOM.  THEIR
OUTDOOR AREA IS AS LARGE AS MOST BACKYARDS WHICH IS CLEANED ON A DAILY
BASIS.  MY OLDEST AUSSIE, KASSIE, SPENDS MOST OF HER TIME IN THE HOUSE NOW
AS THE HEAT AND COLD BOTHER HER AT THE AGE OF 12.  THE OTHER AUSSIES COME
IN THROUGH THE DAYTIME OR HANG OUT WITH ME OUTSIDE.  MY OLD DOGS SHARE A
PEN TOGETHER WHERE THEY ARE ABLE TO REST. THE MIDDLE AGED AUSSIES ARE IN
ANOTHER PEN WHERE THEY LOVE TO PLAY TOGETHER.  I HAVE A PEN JUST FOR
TOMAHAWK AND TACOMA TOO.  THEY GET ALONG GREAT TOGETHER AND ARE
HAPPIER BEING IN A SEPARATE PEN.  I HAVE 2 PUPPY PENS THAT ARE SURROUNDED BY
THE ADULT PENS TO HELP KEEP THE PUPPIES SAFE AND PROTECTED.

EACH NIGHT, 3 DIFFERENT AUSSIES COME INTO THE HOUSE WHERE THEY GET LOTS OF
LOVING AND ATTENTION.  THEY ALL TAKE TURNS GOING INTO TOWN AND GOING
CAMPING.  I TAKE HALF OF THE KENNEL HIKING  ONE DAY AND THEN THE OTHER HALF
THE NEXT TIME.  EVERYONE GETS A CHANCE TO LEARN NEW THINGS.  THIS SUMMER I
HAD TACOMA, TOMAHAWK AND KOKOPELLI DOING TREIBBALL. THEY ALL GET
EQUAL TREATMENT AND LOVE.

I DON'T LIKE TO SEE AUSSIES "KENNELED". MINE GET OUR OF THEIR LARGE KENNEL
AREAS TWICE A DAY IN THE MORNING AND EVENING FOR THEIR WALKS AND TO
HANG OUT WITH ME.  MY AUSSIES ARE STIMULATED MENTALLY WITH LEARNING NEW
THINGS AND GETTING WITH OTHER DOGS FOR FUN.  ALL OF MY AUSSIES GET A LOT
OF PETTING AND AFFECTION ON A DAILY BASIS.  BECAUSE I GIVE THEM ALL OF THIS,
THEY GIVE ME HEALTHY, HAPPY PUPPIES THAT FAMILIES CAN BE PROUD TO OWN AS
MY ADULTS HAVE INSTILLED TRUST AND LOVE INTO THEIR PUPPIES.  MY WHOLE
PACK WORKS AT RAISING A LITTER OF PUPPIES.  THEY CAN TEACH THE PUPPIES
MANY THINGS WE CANNOT.

ALL OF MY AUSSIES GET BATHED AND GROOMED REGULARLY.  ALL OF THEM GET
GROOMED AS IF THEY WERE SHOW DOGS.  I AM PROUD OF EVERY ONE OF THEM AND
LOVE TO SHOW THEM OFF.  THEY ALL DESERVE TO BE EQUALLY BEAUTIFUL.
SOME KENNELS RETIRE THEIR DOGS FROM SHOWING AND BREEDING AND FIND NEW
HOMES FOR THEM.  WE ARE DIFFERENT IN THAT AREA.  I FEEL MY AUSSIES GIVE ME
THEIR BEST IN THEIR YOUNG AGE AND I WANT TO RECIPROCATE AND GIVE THEM MY
BEST IN THEIR OLD AGE.  IT IS EXPENSIVE RUNNING A KENNEL THIS WAY BUT I AM NOT
IN IT FOR THE MONEY.  I GET FAR MORE BACK FROM MY DOGS THAN I GIVE.  ALSO, I
AM VERY CAREFUL WHERE I PLACE MY PUPPIES.  IF I FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE WITH
FOLKS ABOUT SELLING THEM A PUPPY, I SIMPLE DON'T SELL THEM ONE.  I HAVE OFTEN
HAD BREEDERS APPROACH ME ABOUT GETTING A PUPPY FROM ME.  IF I SEE OR HEAR
THAT THEY DO NOT GIVE AN AUSSIE A FOREVER HOME, I DON'T SELL THEM ONE.
AUSSIE TOTALLY BOND TO THEIR FAMILIES.  IT WILL BREAK THEM TO HAVE THAT
BOND BROKEN.  MANY NEVER ADJUST TO BEING REHOMED.  SO IT IS MY JOB TO ENSURE
THEY GO TO A WONDERFUL, LOVING, FOREVER HOME.  I TAKE MY JOB SERIOUSLY.

I ALSO TAKE BREEDING SERIOUSLY.  I WANT TO SEE A BEAUTIFUL AUSSIE WITH
PERFECT HEALTH AND TEMPERAMENT.  THOSE ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF MY
BREEDING PROGRAM.  THEIR GORGEOUS LOOKS AND CONFORMATION JUST COME
NATURALLY.  I SCREEN FOR PERFECTION BEFORE I BREED MY AUSSIES.  THEY HAVE
THEIR DNA ON FILE WITH ASCA AND AKC; THEY HAVE THEIR HIPS AND ELBOWS OFA'D
AND THEIR EYES CERTIFIED.  I WANT TO BE SURE YOU ARE GOING TO GET A VERY
HEALTHY PUPPY THAT YOU CAN ENJOY FOR MANY YEARS.  I  DON'T WANT YOU TO
HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT GETTING INVOLVED WITH ALL KINDS OF SPORTS BECAUSE OF
HIP DISPLASIA OR COLLIE EYE.  I HAVE WORKED HARD DOING TONS OF RESEARCH
AND BUILDING A KENNEL I CAN BE PROUD OF.

WE ARE DIFFERENT THAN MOST BUT I JUST LOVE THE BREED AND LOVE TO SHOW
OTHERS WHAT A WONDERFUL, VERSATILE DOG THAT ALWAYS ADD TO A FAMILY.
I GET MANY LETTERS FROM FAMILIES LETTING ME KNOW HOW
THEIR AUSSIES ARE DOING.  I OFTEN GET TOLD I NEED TO POST
THESE LETTERS. I JUST STARTED TO DO THAT AND WILL ADD
MORE AS I GET THEM.
